Q: When is Lacrosse Season?
A: Lacrosse is considered a Spring Sport. High School starts
the 2nd week of February With games starting
approximately middle of March and the season
ending around the middle of May.
Q: What league do we play in?
A: Currently the Boys High School program (Varsity & J.V.)
play in the Nebraska High School Lacrosse Association
(NELAX) out of Omaha, NE.
U12 and U14 Play Teams around Central Iowa
Q: When do we play our games?
A: Games are normally played on Saturdays and a few
Thursdays & Fridays and maybe 1 or 2 Sundays during the season
and travel approximately 3 times during the season and
play double headers on Saturdays. (we do our best to
avoid Sundays)
Q: How do the players get to the game(s)?
A: We currently do not bus. Players can ride with parents,
teammates parents, coaches and board members. We
DO NOT allow players to drive themselves to games
outside the Greater Des Moines Area (Central Iowa).
Q: What is needed to play lacrosse?
A: BOYS: US Lacrosse Membership, Team Fees, League
Fees, Lacrosse Helmet, Lacrosse Shoulder Pads,
Lacrosse Elbow Pads, Lacrosse Gloves, Lacrosse Stick
(a.k.a Cross), Uniform, Mouth Piece (NO White or Clear)
& Cleats (Football or Soccer cleats are legal).
GIRLS: In Ames we do not have Girls Team so they play Boys rules

Q: What do our fees pay for?
A: US Lacrosse Membership, League Fees, Team Fees
- US Lacrosse Membership - High School $35/yr. -
Middle School $25/yr. Includes: Insurance Coverage for
all lacrosse related events (Practice, Games,
Tournaments), Subscription to US Lacrosse Magazine,
Discounted Tickets to College and Pro Games among

- League Fees - $110/player/yr. (Boys High School Only)
Fees are paid by players directly to Nebraska High School League in early January. Fees pay for 2
Officials and a Trainer for every regular season game. 4
to 5 Officials and a Trainer for year end tournament, 1
case of game balls for all teams, Concussion Baseline
Tests for all players in the league.
- Team Fees - High School $350, U14 & U12 $250
Fees help pay for Practice & Game Facilities, Goals,
Game Clocks, Backstop nets, Balls, Website, Storage,
year end team banquets among other expenses.

Pay in Full - Prefered for budgeting
Payment - Installments 1st payment due apone resgistration of $150.
Last Payment-payment in full due Feb.11th before start of practice.
PAYMENT OPTIONS - Pay Credit Card Online (convience fee added) or Mail Check to
Club Treasurer.

Refunds are ONLY available for those that sign up in the fall and make the decision not to play before Jan. 1st. After Jan. 1st NO refunds will be allowed for any reason.
